To prepare veterinary- and animal-focused professionals to respond effectively to urgent situations in their place of business or education program through providing quality emergency response plans/training, violence prevention/mediation training, and pet first aid/CPR training so that they can work to best ensure their own safety and the safety of their staff, clients/students, and patients/animals.
Through her roles at Bel-Rea Institute for the past 20 years, as Director of Student Services and then Campus Director, Cynthia has been actively involved in developing new veterinary professionals and educators, mentoring veterinary team managers, educating on proactive career advancement, encouraging smart utilization of all levels of staff, and creating innovative human/animal emergency action plans. Cynthia is an experienced non-profit consultant and is actively involved in the City of Aurora’s safety coalition of educators and first responders. Cynthia also brings with her a wide array of professional leadership, policy development, public relations, social media marketing, and accreditation reporting skills to dynamically support directors and managers in need of well-developed emergency response protocols.

A career military officer, Amy retired as a colonel after 26 years in the US Army. During the course of her military career, Amy has served at all levels of the Army, both in the United States and Europe, as a strategic planner and program manager. After three years as a government contractor in the Pentagon, Amy decided a lifestyle and career change was in order and she moved to Denver, CO, to attend Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology. Amy is a Certified Veterinary Technician, has worked at a small animal veterinary hospital and numerous charitable spay and neuter events, and was a Licensed Training Provider of American Red Cross Pet First Aid/CPR. Amy is an innovative thinker, a skilled communicator, and an adept manager. With her extensive regulatory compliance experience she will work closely with you and your staff to ensure that your emergency response program meets appropriate laws, rules, and regulations while helping you tailor it to the individual specifics of your organization.
